Aug 7, 2024, WXFR, Roanoke, VA: New Lynchburg school opening to support students with disabilities

EnCircle’s Minnick Schools are investing in the future of local students with disabilities by announcing the opening of a new school in Lynchburg on 12th Street.

EnCircle’s Minnick Schools are special education day schools that serve students ages 5 to 22 in a supportive environment. These schools help students learn about their behaviors and navigate challenging situations while providing necessary academic support. Minnick Schools offer exceptional programs and serve children with autism spectrum disorders, as well as intellectual and other various disabilities.

Our Minnick Schools’ footprint continues to expand across Virginia, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to support students in the Lynchburg area,” said enCircle CEO Ray Ratke. “The investment in our new, private day school for students with learning challenges represents the confidence of EnCircle’s leadership in the quality and potential of our Minnick Schools.”

The new Lynchburg Minnick School’s principal will be Brian Wray, who has served as a teacher, principal, and Director of Instruction for Lynchburg City Schools. Wray will work alongside an exceptional instruction team, to help provide life-changing opportunities through positive instruction for local students with special needs.

EnCircle leadership, Lynchburg City Leaders and school leadership from surrounding counties will be hosting an opening celebration at the school’s location, 601 12th Street in Lynchburg, on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 12 p.m.
