July 14, 2018, Geneseo, NY, Livingston County News: Law enforcement, schools partner on violence-prevention initiative http://www.thelcn.com/lcn01/law-enforcement-schools-partner-on-violence-prevention-initiative-20180714 Livingston County school district superintendents, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies are partnering in the PREVENT initiative to develop prevention and response strategies to school violence. PREVENT is an acronym for “Partners Responding to End Violence in Education Now and Tomorrow.” The partnership strengthens an enduring bond among law enforcement and school district leaders as the work to identify and mitigate potential threats to school communities, said Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty. As the initiative develops, the objective is to include members from Livingston County Mental Health Services and Livingston County Emergency Management, along with local fire departments and EMS servvices.
