The Lincoln Board of Education has approved a $19.5 million bid for the new Student Support Facility at Yankee Hill.
The facility will serve expelled or suspended students, students who need behavioral or pro-social learning, and students transferring into LPS who might need a unique set of credits.
Yankee Hill currently has 80 students, and the new building will be able to host up to 100-125 students.
Lincoln Public Schools said the current Yankee Hill facility will be repurposed as a space for the district’s Individual Success Program (ISP). ISP is a comprehensive special education program for students with developmental disabilities.
