LATHAM — The Anderson Center for Autism, based Dutchess County, has opened a clinic in the Capital Region.

Anderson has long operated a residential center, as well as other services for children on the autism spectrum.

The group provides assessments and evaluations, professional consults and one-to-one instruction. Anderson uses Applied Behavior Analysis, focused on serving individuals in an inclusive setting.

The clinic’s website says it provides education, support, outreach services and information aimed at increasing opportunities for those on the spectrum.

“Families, caregivers, educators, and colleagues from the Capital District have long waited for these services, and we are thrilled to have responded to their need by expanding Anderson’s footprint into this area of New York state. I am confident that the expertise, resources, and programs now available will make a meaningful, lasting impact on all who spend time with our team at The Anderson Center Clinic,” Anderson’s CEO and Executive Director Patrick Paul said in a statement.

“At The Anderson Center Clinic, we are pleased to offer evaluations and assessments, 1:1 center-based applied behavior analytic instruction, social skills groups, and school district consultations and support — including onsite teacher training and workshops,” CEO Tina Marie Covington said.

Anderson’s team includes licensed behavior analysts, board certified behavior analysts and registered behavior technicians.

The Anderson Center Clinic was supported by a $235,000 Empire State Development capital grant that was recommended by the Capital Region Economic Development Council.
