Dec 11, 2025, Caspian Post: New Autism Support Center Opens in Kazakhstan
A new center supporting children with autism has opened in Kokshetau, Akmola region, just ahead of Kazakhstan’s Independence Day.
The facility offers free services to children across the region, assisting them to adapt, socialize, and communicate effectively, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The two-storey center accommodates up to 50 children and features specialized educators, speech therapists, and psychologists. It serves as a bridge between kindergarten and school, offering daytime, short-term, and overnight programs. Akmola Governor Marat Akhmetzhanov also donated a minibus to support the center’s operations.
Currently, over 13,500 children in the region have special educational needs, including 824 with autism spectrum disorders-an increase of 191 from last year. The initiative reflects Kazakhstan’s growing focus on inclusive education and healthcare development.
