What will happen in another 4 years? How can we go on like this? This is a national (and international) problem of monumental proportions. We have an entire new class of children who cannot be accommodated by the system: many are manifestly neurologically impaired. Meanwhile, the government and the medical profession sleep on regardless.

Jersey City will hold a flag raising ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to commemorate Autism Acceptance Month.

The event, organized by The Whole Spectrum Autism Foundation and Smile Pre School Nursery, will take place at the City Hall Council Chambers located at 280 Grove St.

The city also will hold the 10th Annual Light It Up Blue event, which will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 4 at the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.
