July 8, 2025, Ocean FM: Outrage over lack school places for children with autism in west Sligo school
It's hoped that a number of children with autism will be given access to a school place in west Sligo this coming September.
Currently, Owenbeg National School have space for only one child and there is an unmet demand for three children.
School staff and parents have been working closely and have requested the NCSE to re-open the second special class so that all children can be accommodated.
