Sept 29, 2024, Killarney Advertiser:  SCHOOL DAYZ St. Brigid’s becomes Autism Friendly champion

St. Brigid's Presentation School has been awarded Killarney Autism Friendly Town Champion status.


Principal Róisín Moore expressed her gratitude to the students and staff for their dedication in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all learners.


She highlighted the school's commitment to recognising the unique needs and abilities of every student.


St. Brigid's Presentation has implemented various strategies to support their neurodiverse students.


These include the presence of a therapy dog, Zoomer, to provide comfort and companionship, comprehensive education about autism and neurodiversity for all students, regular consultation with students, parents, and staff. . . .
