What will happen in another 4 years? How can we go on like this? This is a national (and international) problem of monumental proportions. We have an entire new class of children who cannot be accommodated by the system: many are manifestly neurologically impaired. The announcement follows protests in the capital by parents, some from Kildare, who can not get access to a special education class for their children.

An additional 292 special classes have been sanctioned for the coming school year 2025/2026 across the country, including four in Kildare.

This includes a further five SEN classe that were announced for the county last week bringing to fourteen the total number of additional special education needs classes in Kildare North.
