(Ireland) Govt promises additional rooms so 12 autistic students have a place to go

May 13, 2024, Midlands 103: Department Of Education Commits To Providing Much Needed Offaly Classrooms

The State is giving assurances much-needed classrooms in an Offaly school will be delivered in time for next year.


Charleville National School has been given the go-ahead for the provision of two modular units, consisting of a special education room, a classroom and a special tuition room.


Without the additional rooms, 12 students with autism due to attend the school in September, will have nowhere to go.


Minister of State, Alan Dillon, says there can't be a situation where students are disadvantaged:
