The Oireachtas Committee on Autism has been hearing calls for the Minister for Education to make specific arrangements for next year’s Summer Programme 2023 scheme.

It provides educational supports during the summer to children with special needs and those at most risk of educational disadvantage.

Miltown Malbay-based Susan Crawford, whose son is autistic, believes this county has set a benchmark for what autism policy can achieve both nationally and internationally.
