What will happen in another 4 years? How can we go on like this? This is a national (and international) problem of monumental proportions. We have an entire new class of children who cannot be accommodated by the system: many are manifestly neurologically impaired. Meanwhile, the government and the medical profession sleep on regardless.

A national school in Co Donegal has been granted planning permission for the construction of a special educational needs unit.

Donegal county Council approved the development at Scoil Eoin Baiste at Umlagh, Carrigart.

The development will consist of a single storey extension to the east side of the existing school building to create a two classroom special educational needs (SEN) unit. . . .
