A local TD is welcoming the sanction of Special Classes for two local primary schools.
It has been confirmed today that Kilnaleck National School and Mullahoran National School will receive these classes.
The confirmation was made by the Minister for Special Education and Inclusion Micheal Moynihan.
Brendan Smith said that today's confirmation is very welcome news for the staff, students, and school communities involved.
Speaking to Northern Sound the Fianna Fail man said this announcement is good news, and he is continuing to work with schools to secure more special classes for schools in the locality.
" These are welcome developments and I know that they're needed in both schools. We have to ensure that children with additional needs get the necessary supports in school that's needed to ensure that they maximise their potential in education. Now, I know that other schools that I've been supporting, as well as the two approved today, are also seeking additional classes and the Minister has confirmed that over the next number of weeks and months, other classes will be approved for schools in Cavern and Monaghan."
