Farmington Hills, MI: No charges filed against autistic student who made a school shooting threat

Mar 9, 2018, Oakland County, MI, Hometown Life: No charges against student in North Farmington High threat No criminal charges will be filed against a student who allegedly made a shooting threat March 3 against North Farmington High. "The Oakland County prosecutor denied charges yesterday (Thursday) afternoon," Farmington Hills Police Chief Charles Nebus said. Afterward, Nebus said he met with the student's parents and received written permission to say that the student is a special-needs student diagnosed with autism. The student was initially taken for a medical evaluation and is getting follow-up care. As part of their investigation, police established the student had no access to weapons and also had no history of criminal or aggressive behavior. It will be up to the Farmington Public Schools district to determine when the student could be allowed to return to classes. ...
