May 9, 2018, ABC8, Grand Forks, ND: Wednesday News Update 05-09 FARGO SCHOOL BOARD VOTES TO CREATE NEW SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS WITH BEHAVIORAL ISSUES … The Fargo School Board is moving forward with a plan to create a new school, specifically for students with behavioral issues. The school board voted 5 to 4 in its meeting last night to approve the project, that would be a collaboration with West Fargo Schools. The $4 million project would be a remodel to part of Fargo's Agassiz site. It would add two classrooms with strategies that help students de-escalate and calm down, like sensory rooms and natural lighting. Both districts' assistant superintendents said an increase in violence, as well as social and emotional issues in the classroom, point to a need for a new approach.
