The new facility will provide autism and applied behavior analysis services along with speech, occupational and physical therapies. It's set to open in early 2026.
ChildServe will expand its services in eastern Iowa with a new facility set to open in Davenport in early 2026. This will open up opportunities for families with children living with special health care needs, such as autism.
The 9,865-square-foot location at 935 E. 53rd St. will provide autism and applied behavior analysis services, along with outpatient rehabilitation therapy, including speech, occupational and physical therapy, the organization announced this week.
“ChildServe is excited to expand our reach in Eastern Iowa — we’re not just expanding, we’re taking a proactive approach to helping children with special healthcare needs live a great life,” Dr. Teri Wahlig, president and CEO of ChildServe, said in a press release.
“Specifically, we’ve seen an increased need for autism services, and we are making significant investments with a dedicated effort to serve more Iowa children.”
The Davenport site is part of the nonprofit’s broader regional growth strategy. Over the past three years, ChildServe has doubled the size of its facilities in Ames and Iowa City, expanded its Des Moines campus and entered Cedar Rapids.
ChildServe was founded in 1928 and currently provides more than 30 pediatric specialty services to nearly 6,000 Iowan children each year.
ChildServe serves children with special healthcare needs across four focus areas: autism services, pediatric rehabilitation, complex medical care and community-based services. The organization partners with hospitals, pediatric specialists and providers across Iowa. . . .
