Corry, PA: Elementary school partners with mental health agency

Sept 3, 2017, Corry, PA, New mental health services available for Corry students Children with behavioral or emotional problems will be able to get coordinated help in school and out. Corry Elementary School students with severe behavioral or emotional problems will get help at school, at home and in the community this fall. A new partnership between the Achievement Center, Community Care Behavioral Health Organization and Corry Area School District will offer coordinated mental health services for young students beginning in October. The program, dubbed Community and School-Based Behavioral Health Team Services, will partner therapists and other mental health staff with school staff and families to develop coordinated treatment plans for individual students, said Bill Kohler, director of psychological services for the Achievement Center.... Corry Elementary students with emotional and or behavioral problems severe enough to interfere with daily functioning and chances for success will be eligible for the program.
