A new resource for several mid-Missourians will become available this May.
The University of Missouri shared that its Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment will have its grand opening on May 8, 2026.
The $55 million facility will be twice the size of the current Thompson Center on Portland Street.
It will provide several more services to patients and their families, including a playground, therapy gym and group therapy rooms.
The new facility will also have a fully functioning cafe in the lobby to give some patients the opportunity to gain retail, food service and other vocational skills.
