With heavy workloads, educators cannot always diagnose attention deficit disorders, dyslexia and other barriers to learning, and when children fail because of their learning disabilities, there are always lifelong consequences. And now, a new report entitled “The State of Learning Disabilities: Understanding the 1 in 5,” by the National Center for Learning Disabilities, warns: “1 in 5 children in the U.S. have learning and attention issues, but only a small subset are formally identified with a disability in school.”...
