April 8, 2025, CTV SASK: Sask. stores turn down the volume for shoppers with autism

Video: April is World Autism Month, and those who live with the condition have some new options in Saskatchewan.


Sensory Shopping Hours are available at Sobies and Safeway locations and most Sastel stores in Saskatchewan.


During dedicated times stories will make sure no TVs or radios are transmitting sound.

They’ll also turn off the beeping sound on the scanners.


Some living with autism say more awareness will help change perceptions.  . . .


. . . It’s not a label; it’s who we are, and we should be proud and we should be proud of that.
