The results of a two-day referendum are in, and the tally is decisive. Ninety per cent of students want to see Western University focus on mental health supports, even if it takes dollars away from other priorities. … Mental health is a growing concern on university campuses, and Western is no exception. Two Western students died by suicide in November. Wait times are a top concern, as is the confusion around navigating a maze of mental health services. She recognizes that it won’t be possible for Western to deliver all its own mental health services. Building strong community partnerships is the goal.
