"We are trying to do the best we can with limited resources," Obeng said before he presented to board members on Tuesday alternatives to stopping work on plans to construct two early education centers at C.P. Smith and Champlain elementary schools. … Early education plans seem to be up in the air. But, School Board Vice Chairman Jeff Wick repeated during the meeting that the plans were on hold and not scrapped. At issue is a surplus of children in the district with special needs in the district without access to state mandated early education and what to do about capacity in the current program.
