July 3, 2025, WBKO: New autism center opens in Bowling Green
According to Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education, there is a growing need for autism support services in South Central Kentucky, making the opening of this new facility in Bowling Green especially significant.
After reaching capacity at their previous location, Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education decided to open a new location to serve more individuals in the community.
This new autism center serves individuals from ages 2-17 years old and helps guide them with ABA, or Applied Behavior Analysis, therapy for as long as they need. . . .
“ABA is actually catered directly to that individual, so we want to promote their best self and their best quality of life,” Lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Kayla Meredith Velotta said.
“To do that, we create a lot of goals that sometimes look like play, and we orient it to actually be functional things in life.”
Services the facility provides include individualized compassion treatment, family support services and behavior consultation, which is all-hands-on and interactive.
“Our most rewarding moments are when we see it, so they’ll say their first words they make, a new friend or they learn to use their voice in a new way. That’s literally the kind of transformation that we work towards every day.” states Practice Manager Jeremy Evans.
Right across the hall, the facility is already expanding and is under construction for phase two. This expansion plans to help serve even more individuals and to help address this growing need for autism support centers.
Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education and other special needs services will be at the PossAbilities Expo located at the Knicely Center July 19.
