Mar 22, 2024, KWQC, Davenport, IA: Bettendorf Police Department expanding popular patch program in April

The Bettendorf Police Department is partnering with the Quad Cities Autism Center and Hand in Hand to add a special patch to its uniforms in April.

According to police officials, the partnership aims to raise awareness and money for both local nonprofits.

The department has worked with Code 4 Public Safety Emblems in Davenport to design a new patch that features colorful puzzle pieces, a symbol used by several autism awareness and acceptance groups. . . .

“We ask that you join the Bettendorf Police Department in helping us increase awareness, understanding, and celebrate those with autism,” Chief Keith Kimball said. “By showing this support we can strive to reach the goal of achieving true acceptance for those with autism in our communities.”

According to officials, patches will be available for purchase in April at the Family Museum and the Bettendorf Public Library. All proceeds will go to the Quad Cities Autism Center and Hand in Hand. . . .
