Berthoud, CO: Students demand district provide mental health support

We would like to work to prevent future violence in schools such as what we have been witness to throughout our lifetimes," the letter says. "We as students want to see change, we want a safe place within our schools." Several students stressed that the community and the school district need to talk about mental health issues and provide mental health treatment before more tragedies strike. "It's really about time," said junior Rowan Carr, one of the students who marched. "We're a small community. We can really make a name for ourselves and do something about it." Added fellow junior Myles Steerman, "I want to do what I can to speak up because mental health is not something that is really talked about." ….
