What will happen in another 4 years? How can we go on like this? This is a national (and international) problem of monumental proportions. We have an entire new class of children who cannot be accommodated by the system: many are manifestly neurologically impaired. Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis affects as many Australian children as Type 1 Diabetes. It's a hidden disease – which has a huge toll on those who suffer from it.

In 2022, the then government tabled an interim report looking at childhood rheumatic diseases. When Labor came to power – the report was not picked back up.
